My two great passions in life are building meaningful community and tending to our home Earth. I feel deeply honored to become part of The Treehouse School, where both are held with such intention and care. I believe in creating safe spaces for children that are rooted in reverence, rhythm and beauty. I find that the richest learning arises naturally through play, exploration, and connection to the land. Early childhood is a sacred time in human development, and it is both a joy and a great responsibility to help steward young children through this wondrous and deeply formative phase of growth. Cultivating a sense of safety—both within our environment and within ourselves—lays the foundation for a child to meet the world with confidence and curiosity.

After completing my B.S. in Environmental Science and Policy from Southern Oregon University in 2022, I began my journey in environmental and nature-based education with local outdoor schools in the Southern Oregon community. It was there that I first discovered the deep fulfillment that comes from sharing a love of the Earth with the next generation. Since moving back to my home town Portland in 2024 I have taught as a lead instructor at EdenAcres environmental non-profit in their kindergarten forest school class. I have also lead a mixed age farm school class and co-taught in an upper elementary-middle school forest class. I have experience engaging with children from diverse backgrounds and communities across my home state of Oregon. Each child brings their own strengths, stories, and ways of being. These experiences have helped me grow in my ability to hold space with presence and joy, to honor the individuality of each child, and to support learning that is rooted in wonder, care, and authentic connection.

Prior to teaching, I worked in plant nurseries, native landscaping, and environmental advocacy, all of which shaped my love for the natural world and deepened my commitment to sustainability and hands-on learning. I’m especially passionate about gardening, herbalism, and creating learning environments where children can slow down, notice small wonders, and feel at home in the outdoors.

In my free time, I love exploring the native plant communities of the Pacific Northwest, swimming in freshwater, cooking nourishing meals, and tending to my vegetable and herbal medicine gardens. I share my life with a close-knit family and a joyful community of friends, and I’m honored to now become a member of the Treehouse community as well.
