I'm happy to be joining The Treehouse community as a Substitute Teacher. I have been working in education in different realms since 2001: the classroom, outdoor education and international education. I love the outdoors, both spending time in it personally and the educational opportunities and benefits it brings to children. What drew me to The Treehouse was the philosophy of outdoor and experiential education and learning through play.

I hold a degree in Elementary Education and have experience working for various outdoor education non-profits since 2004. In addition to the outdoors, I love traveling and learning about different cultures and countries. I have taught English in Japan, outdoor education in China, taught Afghan girls in Rwanda, and worked with a women's empowerment organization in Pakistan training young girls and women in outdoor skills. I hope to bring my varied background and skills to the young learners at Treehouse.

Outside of teaching, I can be found hiking, backpacking, climbing, camping and looking for outdoor adventures in my free time.
