I am 21 years young and about to start my Senior year online at Oregon State University with a major in HDFS. I have been exploring Early Education for many years, and have recently been in college to become an Elementary Teacher. In the past year, I have decided to change my educational route from Elementary Education to Human Development and Family Sciences (HDFS). One of the reasons that I decided to change my major from Elementary Teaching to HDFS is because I would like to be more involved in the developmental side of children growing up. Working with young children is an amazing way for me to learn how their little bodies and minds grow and develop.

Working with children has always been a passion for me, as I am the oldest child with many siblings and step siblings. I began babysitting in 2016, when I was 12 years old, and fell in love with watching children grow and explore the world around them. I followed that passion throughout my life and took on many babysitting jobs in my teens. Starting in 2022, I have worked at a few different childcare centers to explore what kind of future in early education that I want to follow. I quickly found out that early education provides some of the silliest and best friends to be around. Young children have a way of exploring the world with such confidence and passion that I aspire to gain through working with them.

I come from a small town in Central Oregon, and have always had a passion for the outdoors. It brings me so much happiness to be out with family and friends exploring the world around us. I love to travel, fish, and be out on any body of water! In my free time, I choose to spend time with my new kitten and partner. I am new to the Portland area, but love all of the green trees and beautiful earth surrounding it.

I am very excited to be joining The Treehouse: A Forest Garden School family! I believe that all children deserve to grow up in a safe space surrounded by love and life. At The Treehouse, children learn to love the world around them while engaging the whole child. Their heads, hearts, and hands are well taken care of through their exploration and creativity. My journey may just be beginning, but I am very confident that this is where I belong. Thank you for putting your trust and confidence in me with your little explorer!
